City Names Paul Brandenburg as New City Administrator

April 6, 2022 - City Council announced the appointment of Paul Brandenburg to serve as City Administrator for the City of Liberty Hill.
Brandenburg has over 30 years of local government experience, 25 of which were served as the Administrator or Manager of a municipality. Serving as the City Administrator of Georgetown for 12 years, Paul successfully navigated the pressure of growth and development as he guided the city through its most prosperous period of economic growth. During that time, he supervised over 550 employees and a $230 million budget, while increasing the tax base from $2.2 billion to $5.2 billion.
In Brandenburg’s most recent position, he served as Project Manager for the Brazos River Authority, where he was responsible for the pursuit of alternative sources of water for Central Texas, while managing BRA’s $1.4 million Integrated Water Resource Plan. Paul worked with cities to evaluate water demand, usage, availability, and future initiatives for municipal water.
In his new role, Brandenburg will supervise, monitor, and coordinate all operations for the City; direct and manage the development and implementation of City goals and objectives; provide leadership to City staff and work effectively with the Mayor and City Council.
"Paul has a great record of leadership and is highly regarded and widely respected for his wealth of experience," Mayor Liz Branigan said. "His experience with municipalities on the forefront of growth will provide a new perspective and oversight to help accomplish my administration's priorities to serve all of Liberty Hill."
Brandenburg holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ripon College. In addition to his high level of education and experience, he has also published articles in “Government Technology” and “City County” magazines.
"My expectation is to deliver quality services while leading with a spirit of trust, enthusiasm, integrity, high morals, and dedication to the Liberty Hill community,” said Brandenburg. "I am eager to earn the trust of our citizens and businesses through transparency and inclusivity."
